Searching for recipes

Allrecipes wants to make it as easy as possible for you to find what you are looking for, so we have created a couple of ways to search for recipes to ensure that you do!

Recipe search: For a general search, enter a title or keyword in the search box on the top of the screen or via the General Search

Ingredient Search: Search for recipes that contain the ingredients you want via the Ingredient Search page.

The difference between General Search and Ingredient Search is General Search allows you to find recipes for “tomato sauce” from scratch, whereas the Ingredient Search will allow you to find recipes using ready-made “tomato sauce" as an ingredient.

Browse Filters: Once you have your initial search results you can use the keywords and tag groupings on the left of the page for additional criteria to find the exact recipe you are looking for.

Recipe and cooking questions

For recipe questions, you can post a comment at the bottom of the recipe page. The cook who posted the recipe can then respond via a comment on that recipe also.

For general cooking questions you may send an email to Due to the volume of emails we receive, we apologise in advance if we are unable to answer your question.

Nutrition information

Not all recipes have nutritional information. Only those recipes that have been selected by Allrecipes editors will have nutritional data. Also most recipes provided by partners have nutritional information.
